Web Usage Mining for UUM Learning Care Using Association Rules

The enormous of information on the World Wide Web makes it obvious candidate for data mining research. Application of data mining techniques to the World Wide Web referred as Web mining where this term has been used in three distint ways; Web Content Mining, Web Structure Mining and Web Usage Mining. E-Learning is one of the Web based application where it will facing with large amount of data. In order to produce the university E-Learning (UUM Educare) portal usage patterns and user behaviors, this paper implements the high level process of Web usage mining using basic Association Rules algorithm - Apriori Algorithm. Web usage mining consists of three main phases, namely Data Preprocessing. Pattern Discovering and Patern Analysis. Main resources, server log files become a set of raw data where it's must go through with all the Web usage mining technique, Web usage mining approach has been combined with the basic Association Rules, Apriori Algorithm to optimize the content of the university E-Learning portal. Finally this paper will present an overview of results with the analysis and Web administrator can use the findings for the suitable valuable actions

[Manhaj Wasaatiyah Application on Syncretism Phenomenon in The Custom of Bajau Community in Semporna Sabah District] Aplikasi Manhaj Wasatiyyah Terhadap Fenomena Sinkretisme dalam Adat Masyarakat Bajau di Daerah Semporna Sabah

  The State of Sabah is consist of multiethnic society in which each of the ethnics has cultural uniqueness that differs from one another. The acceptance of Islam caused an assimilation between the Bajaus traditions and Islamic teaching which then led to syncretism. Consequently, some of the practices are regarded as a part of Islamic teachings even though, these practices are actually inherited from their ancestors unrelated to Islamic rules provided in the al-Qur’an and prophetic traditions. The purpose of this study is to discuss the phenomenon of syncretism in their life cycle. Yet, the objective of this study is attempts to analyze the application of the wasatiyyah methodology in dealing with the phenomenon of syncretism. Accordingly, this is a qualitative study which adopts interviews and data analyze. The findings of the study shows that syncretism occured among the Bajau community. Moreover, in dealing of syncretism between tradition and the teachings of Islam, emerged two groups took a different approach to this issue. The first group are those who seek to practice Islam careful and condemn the heretical doctrine (bidaah) of the Bajau community practices that are not aligned with al-Quran and al-Sunnah. The second group are those who can accept the syncretism as a whole. Therefore, the methodology of wasatiyyah should be applied in dealing with the phenomenon to ensure a balance between idealism embodied in Islamic law with the reality of its implementation in the Bajau community. Keywords: Manhaj Wasatiyyah, Syncretism, Urf, Bajau, Semporna   Negeri Sabah mempunyai sebuah masyarakat majmuk yang dilatari dengan keunikan dan perbezaan budaya yang tersendiri dengan masyarakat lain. Pertembungan budaya dan kepercayaan agama telah melahirkan satu entiti hybrid yang menarik dan dikenali dalam khazanah disiplin ilmu fiqh budaya atau ilmu antropologi sebagai sinkretisme. Objektif kajian ini cuba membincangkan fenomena sinkretisme yang berlaku dalam amalan masyarakat Bajau di Semporna Sabah merangkumi aspek kepercayaan tradisi hingga adat kematian. Selain itu, objektif kajian ini cuba mengkaji dan menganalisis aplikasi manhaj wasatiyyah dalam menangani fenomena sinkretisme tersebut. Sehubungan itu, kajian ini merupakan kajian kualitatif yang menggunakan metode pengumpulan data melalui temu bual dan analisis dokumen. Hasil dapatan kajian mendapati, terdapat banyak gejala sinkretisme yang berlaku dalam adat resam masyarakat Bajau yang sukar diketahui sama ada adat resam tersebut merupakan ajaran Islam yang tulen atau peninggalan tradisi silam pra-Islam. Selain itu, dalam menghadapi sinkretisme antara adat tradisi dengan ajaran Islam, muncul dua kelompok yang mengambil pendekatan berbeza dalam isu ini. Kelompok pertama adalah golongan yang berusaha untuk mengamalkan ajaran Islam sepenuhnya dan menghukumkan bidaah segala amalan masyarakat Bajau yang tidak sejajar dengan al- Qur’an dan al-Sunnah. Kelompok kedua pula adalah golongan yang dapat menerima sinkretisme secara keseluruhan. Oleh itu, manhaj wasatiyyah perlu diaplikasikan dalam menangani fenomena tersebut bagi memastikan keseimbangan di antara idealisme yang terkandung dalam hukum Islam dengan realiti perlaksanaannya dalam masyarakat Bajau. Kewajaran penggunaan istilah al-Dhimmi terhadap non Muslim di Malaysia: satu analisis

Malaysia merupakan antara negara majmuk yang mempunyai rakyat pelbagai bangsa dan agama di bawah satu pentadbiran yang sama. Konsep demokrasi berparlimen yang diamalkan di Malaysia memperlihatkan kepentingan rakyat yang terlibat secara langsung dalam sistem pemerintahan negara. Namun begitu, persoalan berkaitan kedudukan setiap warganegara terutamanya golongan non Muslim sering menjadi tumpuan perbincangan para sarjana Muslim yang masih lagi mengaplikasikan model kewarganegaraan berdasarkan sistem pemerintahan khilafah yang sudah pun tidak dipraktikkan lagi pada masa kini. Kajian ini akan menilai kewajaran penggunaan istilah al-dhimmi sebagai status kewarganegaraan golongan non Muslim di Malaysia dengan meneliti peruntukan Perlembagaan Persekutuan berkaitan hal ehwal Non Muslim serta prinsip kenegaraan Islam yang diperkembangkan oleh para sarjana klasik dan kontemporari. Berdasarkan analisis yang dilakukan, kajian mendapati penggunaan istilah al-dhimmi bagi merujuk warganegara non Muslim kurang bersesuaian dengan konteks semasa sistem pemerintahan yang dijalankan di Malaysia berdasarkan tiga faktor iaitu latar belakang dan implikasi semasa penggunaan istilah tersebut serta perubahan kepada asas penetapan kewarganegaraan di Malaysia. Isu penglibatan orang bukan Islam sebagai peguam Syarie di Mahkamah Syariah telah mencetuskan perdebatan di kalangan orang ramai khususnya melibatkan ulama Islam dan pengamal undang-undang Syariah dan Sivil di Malaysia. Ini berikutan tindakan seorang peguam wanita bukan Islam yang telah memfailkan rayuan mencabar larangan yang dikeluarkan Mahkamah Tinggi untuk menghentikan amalan sebagai peguam Syarie. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti latar belakang isu dan penilaiannya dari perspektif undang-undang Islam dan peruntukan perundangan kontemporari di Malaysia. This paper addresses this key issue by enabling the participation of the citizen in formulating Malaysia’s public policy through e-participation.Currently, there is no e-participation framework for citizen to involve in Malaysia’s public policy formulation. Most public policy formulate by certain group of expertise but the feedback from citizen still lacking. The research embraces the socio-technical research paradigm and uses an Actor-Network Theory (ANT) as the theoretical foundation to explore the mutual interaction between all the actors.The proposed e-participation framework has been validated using Delphi Method and evaluated by experts is shown to be workable and practical

Similarity measure fuzzy soft set for phishing detection

Phishing is a serious web security problem, and the internet fraud technique involves mirroring genuine websites to trick online users into stealing their sensitive information and taking out their personal information, such as bank account information, usernames, credit card, and passwords. Early detection can prevent phishing behavior makes quick protection of personal information. Classification methods can be used to predict this phishing behavior. This paper presents an intelligent classification model for detecting Phishing by redefining a fuzzy soft set (FSS) theory for better computational performance. There are four types of similarity measures: (1) Comparison table, (2) Matching function, (3) Similarity measure, and (4) Distance measure. The experiment showed that the Similarity measure has better performance than the others in accuracy and recall, reached 95.45 % and 99.77 %, respectively. It concludes that FSS similarity measured is more precise than others, and FSS could be a promising approach to avoid phishing activities. This novel method can be implemented in social media software to warn the users as an early warning system. This model can be used for personal or commercial purposes on social media applications to protect sensitive data
